Make room for people, play and rest

Use digital learning as one small part of family life.

For newborns, keep the parent in focus

Use the baby journal and parent tools yourself. Infants learn best from interaction with people and the real world; the newborn area is not a programme of screen games for babies.

Join in with older children

Choose a purposeful activity, talk about it together and plan an easy finish. Save time for movement, sleep, reading and ordinary conversation. A timer can help your routine, but your child’s needs and your family context matter too.

Make the next activity clear

Before starting, decide what comes afterwards: putting books away, drawing on paper or going outside. End with one thing your child discovered. The aim is a useful shared experience, not the longest possible session.
