Little piano patterns to play together
Use the piano playground for listening, repeating a short pattern and composing a small tune without needing a microphone.
Make the first sound a shared choice
Open Music and choose Piano. Keep the volume comfortable and tap one note. Wait for it to fade. Ask your child which note they would like to try next. On a small screen the notes appear in a roomy grid; on a wide screen they appear in a row. The labels stay with their sounds.
Try a two-note conversation
Play C then D. Leave a pause for the child to answer with the same pair, a different pair, or one note of their choice. When this feels familiar, try C–D–E or E–D–C. Avoid treating an unexpected note as a failure. Listening and taking turns are useful parts of this small activity.
Record a tiny composition
Tap Record tune and play a few notes. Tap Finish, then My tune to hear them again. The recording stores note events on the device, not a child’s voice. Each tune has a limit of 60 seconds or 128 notes, giving the activity a natural ending. The Options dialog lets a parent delete the saved tune.
Carry the pattern away from the screen
Clap the same short pattern together or tap on a safe tabletop. Let a child choose when to stop. The note names are a starting point for exploration; this simple instrument does not replace piano instruction or promise a developmental result.
