How to use the new PlayABC practice screen

Find a writing activity, watch the guide and keep the useful drawing controls within reach on phones, tablets and computers.

Choose once, then draw

Tap Choose near the activity title. Select a library such as Warm-ups, Capitals, Small letters, Numbers, Shapes or Cursive lowercase. The picker shows full labels and uses pages for larger collections. Close it by choosing a model, using Close, or pressing Escape on a keyboard.

Keep the canvas comfortable

The drawing surface remains square when the device changes shape. Use a finger, mouse or compatible pen and begin at the green dot. Lift between numbered strokes. Watch replays the model, Undo removes the last stroke, Clear starts the attempt again, Hear reads the label and Next changes the activity.

Use Options for occasional changes

The Options dialog contains guide width, name practice, left-handed control order, guide visibility and automatic progression. These choices are kept away from the drawing area so they do not push the controls down the page. When automatic progression is off, the same completed activity stays open until Next is chosen.

Read the feedback kindly

A missing section is marked for another try. Completing half of a guide does not earn a high final score. Cursive capitals and Hindi copy models are explicitly unscored until a matching authored path is supplied. For a keyboard-accessible paper alternative, choose Print a practice sheet in Options.
