A gentle English–Hindi learning routine
Use both languages in ordinary conversations, stories and games without making every word a translation test.
Start with words your family uses
Choose the words that are useful at home: पानी, water, ball, गेंद. Different family members may speak different languages. Let each adult use the language in which they can communicate warmly and comfortably.
Keep each activity simple
Try a Hindi picture card, then an English story at another time. Listen together and connect the word to a real object. If your child answers in another language, respond to the meaning of their answer before offering another word.
Return to familiar books
A repeated story gives children another chance to notice the pictures and join in. Ask “What can you see?” rather than demanding a perfect sentence. PlayABC can introduce a word; shared conversation gives it a place in everyday life.
