Finger writing without filling the whole guide

A letter needs its shape and important strokes. It does not need a thick shaded area to be coloured in.

Start with Friendly writing

Open Practice and choose a simple letter such as A. Draw each line once with a finger, pen or mouse. Pause to see the practice score. Friendly writing allows small differences in position, size and stroke order when comparing the attempt with the selected model. The comparison is not unrestricted handwriting recognition: it cannot read any word drawn anywhere.

Keep the useful parts of an attempt

The drawing stays visible after feedback. If A is missing its crossbar, add that line. Use Undo for the last stroke or Clear for a fresh page. A partial attempt can show a score without being marked complete. The score should help a family notice the shape; it is not a reason to make a young learner repeat an uncomfortable movement.

Choose a comfortable view

Open Options to change the guide, select left-handed controls or move the visible ink slightly above a finger. Use the phone in the position that gives a comfortable writing area. The main controls stay beside the activity or at its bottom, while larger libraries open in a dialog. Return to paper and suitable drawing materials when a screen feels awkward.

Move to the next kind of practice

Guided trace checks the marked path more strictly. Write & compare hides the large guide and keeps the model name visible. Cursive practice uses the supplied stroke models; handwriting styles differ, so a teacher’s model may be more appropriate. Hindi and unsupported cursive copy sheets are labelled as unscored. A website practice score is not a school handwriting assessment.
