Make rhyme time a shared game
A small action and a predictable line invite children to take part.
Read before you play
Choose a short rhyme and read the words yourself. A spoken version is useful for following the text; it is not the same as a professionally sung recording. In PlayABC, uploaded rhyme audio takes priority when the site owner provides it.
Add a movement
Wave for hello, point to the sky or gently tap the table with a counting line. Keep the movement comfortable and safe. Let children invent their own action and repeat a favourite line without rushing through a playlist.
Make a new ending
Pause before a familiar final word and give your child time to join in. You can also make up a new line about a family toy. Take the rhyme into an ordinary routine, then turn the screen off and keep singing or speaking together.
